MADDOX vs HubSpot for MSPs

MADDOX vs HubSpot for MSPs: MSP-first sales depth against a broad general platform. Tiers, PSA connection, coaching, renewals, and who should choose which.

Comparison

Should an MSP choose MADDOX or HubSpot?

Choose HubSpot if marketing is your growth engine and you want one broad platform with a huge app ecosystem, accepting that MSP workflows are yours to configure. Choose MADDOX if you sell through calls and assessments and want coaching, objections, renewals and business reviews built in, with MSP depth already there rather than assembled.

HubSpot is one of the most widely used CRMs in the world and many MSPs run on it happily. MADDOX is narrower in some directions and deeper in others. This page sets the two side by side for the way an MSP sells.

HubSpot

What does HubSpot offer an MSP?

HubSpot is a general customer platform: a free CRM, plus paid hubs for marketing, sales, service, content and more. For an MSP its draw is breadth — strong inbound marketing, a familiar interface, and a very large app marketplace — rather than anything built specifically for managed services.

Sales Hub tiers.

According to HubSpot’s own Sales Hub pricing guide, reviewed in October 2026, there are four tiers. Free costs nothing. Starter, Professional and Enterprise are priced per seat per month, with a discount for annual billing, and Professional and Enterprise each carry a one-time onboarding fee. The step from Starter to Professional is large, so check HubSpot’s pricing page for current figures.

Where features sit.

The same guide places sequences, forecasting and sales playbooks at Professional and above, and conversation intelligence and coaching playlists at Enterprise. Included calling minutes rise by tier. When you price HubSpot for an MSP, price the tier that carries the features you would actually use, not the entry tier.

PSA connection.

HubSpot’s App Marketplace lists a ConnectWise PSA app. As with any connector, ask what syncs, in which direction, and what the plan requirements are before relying on it.

MADDOX

What does MADDOX offer an MSP?

MADDOX is a sales CRM with MSP depth built first. It ships with 200+ capabilities, all on by default, centred on the conversation and the deal: recorded calls, coaching, objections and stage discipline, with renewals and business reviews treated as sales work rather than an afterthought.

Built in rather than tiered.

Calls are recorded, transcribed and searchable; call grading, one-to-one prep and development plans are built on them. Deals carry stage exit criteria and tracked objections. Renewals run as a pipeline with a monthly recurring revenue view, accounts carry health scores, and a QBR builder prepares the review. Email campaigns, journeys and deliverability tooling are part of the platform.

There are four subscription levels; a level can only remove modules, never add them, and the pricing page explains what each changes. Access is by invitation and there is no published price list.

MSP-specific, with limits stated.

The IT Audit add-on, switched off until enabled, scores a client estate and builds the deck. ConnectWise and Autotask connectors are early access and bring companies and agreements across. MSP campaign packs — Break-Fix to Managed Services, a TBR pack — install as drafts. MADDOX does not run social, ads or text-message marketing, and has no native mobile app.

Side by side

How do MADDOX and HubSpot compare for MSPs?

HubSpot wins on breadth, marketing channels, mobile apps and ecosystem size; MADDOX wins on MSP-specific depth and on coaching and call intelligence being part of the product rather than a top tier. Both connect to ConnectWise, through different routes and with different maturity.

The honest answer

When is HubSpot the better choice for an MSP?

When inbound marketing drives your growth, when you want one vendor for marketing, sales and service with a vast ecosystem around it, or when your team needs native mobile apps. HubSpot is also the safer choice if you want a free tier to start on and grow into.

Signs HubSpot fits better.

We would point an MSP to HubSpot in these cases.

  • Content, SEO and social are how most of your leads arrive.
  • You want social publishing or ads management in the same platform.
  • You need native iOS and Android apps.
  • You already have HubSpot expertise in-house or a partner who runs it for you.

The other side

When is MADDOX the better choice for an MSP?

When your growth comes from conversations rather than content. If you sell managed services through discovery calls, assessments and business reviews, and want coaching built on recorded calls without buying the top tier of a general platform, MADDOX fits that motion more directly.

Signs MADDOX fits better.

These are the cases MADDOX was built for.

  • You sell on assessments and want the deck built from the findings (IT Audit add-on).
  • You want call grading and one-to-ones from day one rather than at an upper tier.
  • Renewals and QBRs are sales work in your business, not admin.
  • You would rather adopt MSP campaign packs than build every journey from scratch.

Moving from HubSpot.

If you are already on HubSpot, the practical question is migration effort: contacts, companies, deals and activity history. MADDOX supports mapped imports. Ask us to walk your export through it before you commit, so you see what lands where.

Before you decide

What should an MSP check before choosing either?

Check which tier or level carries the features you will actually use, what the PSA connection really syncs, how coaching would work for your team in practice, and what it costs to move your existing data. Ask both vendors to show these with your own deals rather than a prepared demo account.

Five checks.

Each of these has caught out MSPs who chose on the strength of a demo alone.

  • The tier you need. List the features you will use in the first year and find the tier or level that includes all of them.
  • The PSA sync. Ask for the field mapping and sync direction, and whether the connector is generally available.
  • Coaching in practice. Ask to see a manager prepare a one-to-one from real calls, not a slide about it.
  • Renewals. Ask how an agreement renewing in ninety days surfaces, and who is prompted to act.
  • The exit. Ask how you export contacts, deals, activities and call history if you ever leave.

Where the money goes.

With HubSpot, the cost to model is seats at the tier you need plus any onboarding fee, plus other hubs if you want marketing or service features. With MADDOX, ask for a quote against the subscription level you need. With either, the larger cost is usually your team’s time to adopt it, so weigh how much configuration each would need to fit the way you sell.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

Is HubSpot good for MSPs?

Yes, for many MSPs, particularly marketing-led ones. It is a general platform rather than an MSP-specific one, so assessments, renewals and business reviews need configuring, and features such as sequences and forecasting start at the Professional tier according to HubSpot’s own pricing guide.

Does HubSpot integrate with ConnectWise PSA?

HubSpot’s App Marketplace lists a ConnectWise PSA app. Check which objects it syncs, in which direction, and any plan requirements before relying on it.

Does MADDOX have a free plan like HubSpot?

No. MADDOX is available by invitation, with four subscription levels and no published price list. The pricing page explains what each level changes.

Can MADDOX replace HubSpot for marketing?

For email marketing, journeys and campaign packs, yes. MADDOX does not run social publishing, ads or text-message marketing, so if those channels matter to you, HubSpot covers ground MADDOX does not.
